Identification: Forewing bright, shiny orange-yellow, with reddish or brownish shading toward apex. No markings. Hindwing gray.

Life History:
Flight: March-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Larva mines leaves of chestnut and oak trees.

Range: Quebec to northern Florida, west to Ontario, Missouri, and Texas.
