Taxonomy Notes: Pyrgus adepta has often been treated as a subspecies of P. communis. Austin & Warren (2001) argue in favor of elevating adepta to species level, but note that identification of Pyrgus remains difficult, and is preferably based on examination of genitalia. It is probable that communis and adepta are allopatric and can be identified by range. Pyrgus adepta was moved to Burnsius.
