Identification: Color varies; one form is all yellow, a second a dull pinkish brown; all forms have a hooked apex and a postmedial line that angles back sharply toward costa and below apex.
Wing Span: 2.5 - 3.4 cm
Life History:
Flight: One flight May - September, with stragglers to November.
Caterpillar Hosts: Birches and viburnums.

Range: Eastern and mid-Western United States and Canada.
Conservation:
NCGR: G5 - Demonstrably secure globally, though it may be quite rare in parts of its range, especially at the periphery.
