Grammia anna (Grote, 1864)

Subfamily: Arctiinae
Identification: Similar to Grammia virguncula, but usually larger. Forewing black with thick and thin yellowish to cream-colored lines. Forewing pattern includes 2-3 pale lines extending inward from costa. Hindwing bright yellow with broad black border and black spot near costa, often merged into a curved hook. Hindwing entirely black in some females. Little or no yellow on underside of abdomen.
Wing Span: 4-5.3 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-July.
Caterpillar Hosts: A wide variety of low plants, such as clover and plantain.
