Identification: Nearly identical to Datana ministra, but forewing outer margin even less wavy; darker brown toward costa (not tawny to reddish brown, as in Datana drexelli). Hindwing more solid orangish brown, like forewing.

Caterpillar Hosts: Azalea and bog rosemary.

Range: Nova Scotia to Florida, west to Kansas and Arkansas.
Conservation:
NCGR: G4G5- Apparently or demonstrably secure globally, though it may be quite rare in parts of its range, especially at the periphery.
