Observation notes: Usually early part of morning it is found. It kept changing colors as it grew. Red feet, and tufts, yellow stripe above feet along length. The top length of back stripe black-looks solid when flat but as he bends each segment looks like black diamond. In each segment around middle is little black with white polka dots. He is on a Japanese Maple leaf I stripe this spring in a rain garden. Other plants in area surrounding: pussy willow, hosta, elephant ears, red bud, phlox-creeping and tall garden type, sunflowers, a pink spike type flower?
