Observation notes: the night before had been clear. sighted moth on 07/20/14 in the morning. Overcast skies, temp 65 degrees (F). nearby plants -- flowering hosta, maple trees. This female moth was on the eastern facing side of the house, below the front door light. She remained at this location for the entire day. Her wings were folded when in repose but opened (flared) when I opened the door to enter or exit the house. Markings were distinct. A healthy and beautiful lvingin specimen.
