Observation date: April 26, 2014
Submitted by: Robert Gorman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: hatched from silk casings, these may be the same ones i keep sending. but they seem to have less spots, also look more silvery to me. I don't know enough about these and not sure how to look them up. sorry if these are just more duplicates. this time i also had two predatory wasps hatch out also from same casings. I don't think you guys study these ? i will send to Dr. Peter Bryant and bug guide for id?

Coordinator notes: Depending on the angle of the light source and/or flash unit shining on the moth you can get a "silvery" effect. In order to make sure I don't get a silvery effect when I photograph moths, I have the camera on a tripod which frees up one hand (while taking the photo with the other). I have an external flash unit on my camera. In my free hand I use a small LED flashlight to additionally shine on the moth from one side and then the other. This insures that I will have one view without a silvery effect.
