Observation notes: Found on ground and around house under Monterey Cypress trees. Very active in the daytime. Every Spring large amounts of these caterpillars show up at and around our home. Occasionally spotted hanging from silk (?) off of plants and trees around our home. We have not been able to raise to adult stage in the past.
