Observation notes: We seemed to have thousands of these little guys in our yard and pasture. I only recall seeing the caterpillars on this one yellow flowering weed host plant. I don't have a positive ID for the host plant but it may be a cowpen daisy (Verbesina encelioides). Saw the caterpillars summer and fall into November.
