Observation notes: butterfly alighted on trunk of magnolia tree in front yard; I attempted to capture it with my fingers, but it flew off. The flight was very quick and erratic.

Coordinator notes: Butterfly alighted on trunk of magnolia tree in front yard and I got a very close look at it with wings folded; I attempted to capture it with my fingers, but it flew off and I briefly saw the upperside. The flight was very quick and erratic. This information was recorded in my field notes just after the sighting. This was the only time I saw this species in the San Antonio area.
