Observation notes: Caterpillar was moving across wet concrete during a rainstorm. It appeared to be seeking out small puddles on the surface; perhaps it was collecting minerals? It clearly maneuvered in such a way as to stay on the concrete slab. (It moved away from the edge on at least one occasion.) This was in Jefferson County, New York.
I don't know what specie it is, and am curious to find out.
