Observation notes: This rare stray was observed flying along semi-wooded pond in Ransom Canyon near Birding Sanctuary. Erratic flight and finally perched in lower part of pine tree in shade.

Coordinator notes: Thank you for submitting this rare stray. This is the first TX record of Marpesia petreus in the Bamona database since 2008, and the furthest north in TX sighting locale.
