Observation notes: About 1 1/2 inches long, underwing-type moth, the underwing (not shown in this photo) is bright red and black, the upper wings are pale greenish gray with black checks along the edges of the wings, and a reddish mark down the center where the body is along with a tuft of orange hair right behind the head
