Observation notes: This caterpillar was discovered on the underside of a Virginia creeper leaf. It was also close to a wild grapevine growing on the same fence.
Many other shade garden plants are very close by including ferns and hostas. We are located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After several hours of observing it, the caterpillar had not moved. It also did not appear to be eating.
