Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America online and free. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Observation notes: In shade, clinging to long-dead thistle head. Very warm, clear day - 24 hours after end of unseasonal June rain. According to Liam O'Brien who identified the species, based on these pictures, "Seems to be having a banner season, showing up on many counts - Berkeley the other day and Point Reyes today."

Coordinator notes: Yes Liam is right and I hope he is still not looking for butterflies in the rain at Antioch. Polygonia oreas is always a nice find.-Ken Davenport
