Observation notes: Very small butterfly, flew close to ground in sheltered open area ~50 feet from lake edge. Observed 3 individuals total.

Coordinator notes: Eliminated Lupine Blue as it is not in Kansas. While I know that some populations of the Melissa blue lack the orange band on the forewing below, I eliminated that species due to the photographed specimen's smaller size and lack of metallic blue markings on the hindwing orange band. It appears that Acmon Blue can display similar metallic markings but some populations do not. Also eliminated buckwheat blues due to smaller size of this specimen.
