Observation notes: I've been trying to photograph this butterfly for about a week with no luck because it never seemed to land anywhere, and I never saw it feeding. Today I found it in obviously poor health on my driveway. I put it on a tree that was bleeding sap, but it's probably not long for the world. This is the first Tawny Emperor I've seen in my yard, and I wonder if it didn't blow in with one of the powerful storms that came through recently.
