Ruddy Dagger Moth
Acronicta rubricoma

Observation date: May 21, 2013
Submitted by: mvillesca
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Unfortunetly, I do not know what type of tree this little guy is chomping on. I have tried several times to chop it down and it grows back more vigorous than ever.
Status: Resident

Verified date: December 27, 2013
Coordinator notes: The tree in the photo is a Hackberry and is a prolific native tree that is host to many beautiful butterflies and moths including the American Snout which we see a lot in the fall months. I'm not sure if this makes you feel any better about the tree though. Thanks for your submission!
