Observation notes: This caterpillar was moving very quickly across the pathway, to disappear into the border of wild strawberries and reindeer lichen. Early blue violet, lomatium, camas, lupine, chocolate lily, Western buttercup and Broad-leaved shooting star were also in bloom.
