Two-barred Flasher
Astraptes fulgerator

Observation date: March 25, 2013
Submitted by: Kathryn Kostka ...
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This butterfly was found on a rugged path in a dry forest of Pozos de Santa Ana, Costa Rica. It was on the ground as seen in the photograph with its wings open. I felt like it had just hatched because it was in such perfect condition.. and the wings could be drying. Its colors and fuzzy thorax were uncommon to me and I wanted to share this image. Thank you.
