Observation notes: I collected this moth at a service station in the Missouri River bottoms just into Missouri east of Leavenworth KS. It was found on a concrete footing for a gas pump. The temperature was in the mid 50s, it was clear with high pressure. The night before had a waning moon just past half. The insect was cold and motionless resting on the concrete.

Coordinator notes: P. occidentalis has the black line on the hind wing angulate, narrow and not developed as a broad triangle.
