Evergreen Bagworm Moth
Thyridopteryx ephemeraeformis

Observation date: September 04, 2012
Submitted by: memes4me
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The moth (there are two in the image) lower in the image was still trying to climb out of its cocoon. There were hundreds, if not a thousand of or so of these cocoons clustered on few low-laying shrubs at a bank parking lot. The body was black (or maybe very dark gray in brighter light) and it had translucent/clear wings with black veins.
