Observation notes: Two of these had just emerged from their chrysalises. My husband purchased two milk weed plants about a year ago hoping we could attract the Monarch butterfly. Pictures were taken while it was still stretching and drying its wings before flight. We had discovered the catapillars the previous weekend eating all the leaves. When the leaves were gone we could not find the catapillars or anythng else until this.
