Observation notes: Hundreds of individuals, perhaps 1,000. All feeding on lupine in small area of a wet meadow. Some feeding on foliage, many eating flower buds and flowers. Lupine patch almost destroyed by caterpillars in 2009. Maybe one out of ten Lupine plants survived. In 2010 and 2011 there were few Lupine plants and caterpillars. Lupine patch looking pretty lush in 2012,not many caterpillars. This is where I find adult Cisseps fulvicollis later in the year. Also found adult Cisseps fulvicollins near lupine plants in other areas of the park this year(2012).
