Observation notes: I didn't even suspect it to be anything weird, but tried to chase it through a Miami County garden. This was the best photo I could get before it really took off and never returned. The spots on the forewing are not large enough or "lined up" enough to be a Southern Cloudywing. A Northern Cloudywing would be more drab and have spots even less "lined up", and would lack the whitish "rings" or "spectacles" around the eyes. A typical Confused Cloudywing to me.
