Observation notes: This was the third year I encountered C. johnsoni in the Horseshoe Bend, ID area (see sighting #698122 & 698132). One individual was seen and photographed at a roadside mud puddle in the exact same location as the puddle attracting C. johnsoni in 2004. Habitat is transition between sage steppe/forest/riparian. Elev approx 3500 ft. I had been observing and photographing insects at the puddle for some time when the C. johnsoni arrived. It only remained there for a minute or less - just enough time to get a few photographs.
