Observation notes: This moth was just under our entry door step one August weekend morning. He stayed for a while, perhaps he had just emerged. When he was disturbed accidentally he opened wings as if to fly away but did not. The bottom wings had beautiful metallic dark blue spots on soft orange and in fact he was quite colourful despite the camouflage top wings. I've never seen one since unfortunately.
