Coordinator notes: This area is probably a intergrade zone between the San Luis Valley where typical L. helloides occur and higher elevation populations that should be referred to as either of Lycaena castro / florus. The former is more typical at altitudes well over 8000 Ft. while helloides occur at lower elevations (such as on the floor of the SLV). The individual pictured has more characteristics/markings of L. helloides. See discussions by J. Scott in Papilio #18 New Series (2008).
