Observation notes: Thank you in advance for your help. Details -- I found this moth on my driveway this morning. It is close to 5" wide, left to right, and approx 3" from nose to end of "tail". The wings, if not fully visible in photos, are shades of "cool" brown. The body is the same color as the darkest wing shade. Unfortuneately, it has not moved -- I think it is alive as a spider walked by and it flinched. But other than that, it has not moved. It is sitting on my driveway, but very close to the outer wall of my house...which is planed by cedar. I mention that because I notice lots of moths near my front door at this time of year -- I also think that rain causes more to moths to land here (though I have no data to back up hunch). I will leave this moth alone, but would like to know what it is...this is not the first time a moth of this type arrived at my front door. Again, thank you for your time.
