Observation notes: I first observed what I think is a moth on a Monday evening (4/18/2011) just outside of my front door. I live in Colorado, and I have seen them at our home in the past, and I remembered that they typically stay in the same place for a day or two. This "moth" was still in the same general area as of this morning (4/23/2011), but it is now gone. I am curious as to whether or not this is, in fact a moth, and would like to understand a little more about this species. It is interesting that we now see these regularly each year, and I am fascinated that they stay in the same place for days on end. It has been chilly and windy here all week with typical Colorado springtime weather, and at times, I could see the wind blowing its wings pretty hard, but it stayed put.
