Observation notes: First butterfly seen for year 2011. I walked one and a half miles down a road between 10:25 am and 11:15 am. I spotted no butterflies. On the return trip covering the same route between 11:15 am and 11:40 am I spotted eight individuals (Polygonia comma) over a mile area. Sunny, blue skies, 70 F degrees, wind 7 mph from the south.
