Observation notes: At Hugh Taylor Birch Park and butterfly gardens. Sunny day in the 90’s F. These are both empty and occupied chrysalis’ of the endangered Atala butterfly on its native host plant Coontie. Saw one flying in the underbrush but was unable to get a pic!
