Observation notes: Observed from the Paul Smith's VIC Boreal Life trail boardwalk flying low over a sphagnum moss bog on a sunny morning. Lots of cranberry and other acidic bog plants including many orchids in bloom (white-fringed orchid, rose pogonia, grass pinks etc. still in bloom). Before I took pic I noticed a thin way orange wavy line inset from bottom edge of hindwings. Thought I saw a bluish tint but can't remember exactly. I assist with the annual Mercer Butterfly Count in Mercer County, NJ.
