Observation notes: Most seen at one time: 4. Shaping up to be a big year for this butterfly on Marys Peak. Location: 44.4744, -123.5285. My favorite butterfly spot on Marys Peak. Approximately 2.4 miles up Marys Peak Forest Rd from junction with Hwy 34. Sunny in the morning, shady in the afternoon. A small roadside stream and waterfall and mudflat with a paved pullout. Road cut forested on one side, dry grassy and moist riparian road shoulder with seeps along road cut. East facing granite cliff with lots of nooks and crannies for butterflies to shelter at night
