Dun Skipper
Euphyes vestris

Observation date: June 27, 2026
Submitted by: Dogoszhi
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: No idea on species. Resting on rocks or ground; one photo shows it sampling some decomposed scat (?) on trail. In open mixed juniper-pinyon-ponderosa woodland, in valley bottom, at 6800 feet. Sunny, warm, moderate breeze.
Status: Resident
Verified by: stevecary
Verified date: July 01, 2026
Coordinator notes: I'm going to call it Dun Skipper because of gold head and hindwing, but I agree it is a weird one. the dorsal forewing almost seems like perhaps a cross with tawny-edged skipper.
