Observation notes: I found a very small caterpillar on my dogwood below cedar and walnut trees that perfectly resembled a twig. It fed on walnut leaves and was mostly nocturnal. It would move away from the leaves after feeding, stand erect like a twig and stay perfectly still. It burrowed into peat moss on June 9th to pupate. Moth emerged June 24th shortly after midnight.
