  Sighting 1425573

Observation date: June 19, 2026
Submitted by: Dogoszhi
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Seems to have DFW and DHW spot patterns like a satyr comma, but strong markings on trailing edge of DHW remind me of a hoary comma. Sadly, undersides not seen as it flew off. On trail in alpine conifer forest, about 10,000 feet. Sunny, pleasantly cool, breeze.

Coordinator notes: it is a bit odd, I agree. the hindwing margin and submargin definitely point to Hoary. if the black blob on the hindwing can be seen as two small dark spots that simply merged, then that's also Hoary instead of Satyr which has 3 black spots.
