Coordinator notes: This may also be Euphydryas colon, but most authorities say they are chalcedona in Jackson County. I have only one individual from near Mt. Ashland which I think is colon. Andy Warren's Oregon book was not definitive in splitting Oregon's 3 different Variable Checkerspot species into chalcedona, colon and anicia which I accept.-Ken Davenport
