Observation notes: This 2 1/2 inch moth was on the floor of my deck in the foothills of western NC. I picked it up to relocate it to safer location off the ground where it flew and settled on the barbeque cover. At first ir remained perfectly still but after aprox 60 seconds the wings started flitching / vibrating. As I was walking away heading to the back door where the deck light was on , the moth flew into my body and fluttered around my head before dissapearing.
