Observation notes: Near Middle Sespe Creek trail. Sunny day in the 70’s F with breezes. Found during California Native Plant Society field trip! Moth that mimics bumble bees!

Coordinator notes: I can't see the FW clearly, but by process of elimination I'm sure this is H. thetis. There is one (fairly suspect, to my mind) sighting of H. diffinis in CA but it's further north and may not be accurate. No other Hemaris sp. occur in CA. JRains
