Pale Swallowtail
Papilio eurymedon

Observation date: June 05, 2026
Submitted by: Cactuswren1976
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Flying back and forth along a wet section of the creek. It landed on the ground above the creek and the photo shows its tongue extending into the clump of vegetation for uptake of moisture/minerals? Then, at one point it landed at the water's edge and was assumed to be taking in moisture. A larger, darker yellow "Tiger Swallowtail" was also flying at this location at the same time but would not alight for a photo.
