Observation notes: Calm, sunny , temp in upper 60s F. Several seen along the trail. Two females observed searching for the right host plant to place an egg. In the photo, a previously deposited egg can be seen at the top of an adjacent stalk of grass.

Coordinator notes: amazing photo, topper! I wonder, though, if it is a grass nor another species of plant, such as a Linum (flax) species, which do host this butterfly and have long skinny leaves.
