Observation notes: Followed this individual up Volcano Road this morning. First I've seen in the park this year, and it appears to be the first reported on BAMONA. There are two past records on iNaturalist. Either way, it's not super common here. We "theoretically" have aspens in the park, though I have not seen them in the last couple years. I know there are other areas with scattered aspen in the region, so maybe it blew in from somewhere else.
Status: Temporary Colonist

Coordinator notes: a nice record for sure. because of their large size and capable flight, they do get seen in odd places. if you see a lot of them, you might conclude they are breeding residents.
