Observation notes: Mostly cloudy, very windy, low 60's. This butterfly was seen on a narrow gravel road with lots of native shrubs, grasses, and noxious weeds on either side. A few Phlox and Astragalus plants were blooming along with Dandelions and Townsend's Daisies.

Coordinator notes: Edith's Checkerspot...looks like a male...quite an early record but not too surprising with the early spring we have had. Could be the earliest record for editha. Many early record dates are being broken. Mike
