Coordinator notes: Your suggested ID is correct...a newly emerged male of the prairie subspecies texana that does enter the foothills and fly earlier than subspecies lutzi and has a successive flight late in the summer...lutzi flying June-August in this same area and in the mountains (some think texana belongs to I. acmon or is a distinct species). This appears to tentatively be a new early date record...previous I have at hand (which may not be accurate) is April 15...also in Jefferson County. Thanks for posting your sighting on BAMONA. Mike
