Observation date: April 10, 2026
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Still several flying around, but most looking paler/more worn-this one was the most colorful. I also saw four butterflies that appeared light orange in flight, but they never landed; I thought they were probably painted ladies. Also saw one sulphur but it didn't land either.

Coordinator notes: Correct ID...looking a little worn. Cannot tell the sex...sometimes the scent pad of the male impresses at the mid-costa area on the under forewing but sometime not...if not one could be a female. I will be interesting to know how long these stay on the wing in your area this year...there might be a few stragglers that come out like a second appearance later this month or early next...if you continue to observe weekly.
