Observation notes: We saw these butterflies flying singly throughout the oak woodlands where they were really numerous (over 50) ravenously feeding together on blossoms of Klamath Plum & Oregon Grape (in a large showy patch of these trees & bushes). The air was especially sweet with the honey scent of the Oregon Grape flowers. Weather was very warm & sunny.
