Observation notes: A small butterfly flying in circles around a patch of small yellow flowers and landed, and also near a small patch of dried bergamot in an open area in a city park. Color of butterfly was yellowish from a distance and up close could see definite brown freckles and a ringed, larger freckled spot with whitish center plus 1/2 of a 2nd smaller one directly beside or attached to this that is missing the white center. Brownish edges. A little orangish color on upper part of wings and pale greenish colors on underside of wings. Sunny most of day, warm, and near a creek and pond.
Some white, probably Cabbage Whites, butterflies also flying in same area, but were too fast and not landing.
