Coordinator notes: A female Julia Orangetip...can't remember if I mentioned the subspecies the last round of photos a week ago?...likely near ssp. prestonorum Stout. The marbling on the underside of the hindwings in most plateau-related localities is grayish green. Nominate julia has very dark green marbling and on the western slope is found in some higher mountain locations. Mike PS Can you get permission to access into the area of west Sandoval Mesa in Archuleta County...on the Ute or Navajo Reservation? Great spot for butterflies. Mike
